Information About Brokerage Services
This page is an accessible overview, not a replacement for the completed TREC form. The signed-off brokerage information appears in Jean Kirkman’s official completed IABS 1-2 PDF.
What the notice explains
Texas law requires real estate license holders to explain brokerage services to prospective buyers, tenants, sellers, and landlords. The official notice describes:
- The roles of brokers and sponsored sales agents.
- A broker’s minimum duties to a represented client.
- When written agreements are required.
- Representation of an owner, buyer, or tenant.
- Intermediary relationships when a broker represents both parties.
- The limited circumstances in which a license holder may show property without representing the buyer or tenant.
